Church

Fellowship

Acts 2:42

42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

At the Appalachian Christian Center we feel that Christian fellowship is very important. We believe that Christian fellowship is essential for God's children. Besides our regular Sunday and Wednesday services, we have regular fellowship meeting scheduled. The ladies of the church meet on the first Monday night of each month for the Ladies Fellowship Meeting. The men meet at a local restaurant on the second Saturday morning of each month for a Men's Prayer Breakfast.

Also we have a church Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. These dinners are usually scheduled on the Sunday evening prior to Thanksgiving and Christmas. These dinners are open to the entire church. Each member is encouraged to come for a time of Christian dining and fellowship.

During the winter, usually on a Sunday evening, we have a soup supper. The soup supper consists of three or four different soups. Different people of the church will prepare a large pot of soup. Again we gather in the church fellowship hall for a time of family-like dining and a time of fellowship.

A couple of times during the summer, we will have a church cookout. We prepare hotdogs and hamburgers and eat out under the picnic shelter behind the church. At most of the cookouts we may also play yard games. One of the cookouts is usually a family night sponsored by the Ladies Fellowship group. This evening is often a potluck type dinner with each lady in the Ladies Fellowship group preparing a dish of food.

During most of the fellowship dinners the women do the cooking and preparing of the food. So at Easter, the men of the church prepare a breakfast for the ladies of the church. The men bring the food necessary to prepare breakfast and cook the meal. Not only do the men cook the meal, but also serve the ladies. This is done on Easter Sunday prior to our morning Easter service. The men usually serve fifty to sixty people for the breakfast.
